There is an old saying that every person is entitled to their own opinions but not to their own facts. Mary Matalin, ever the partisan hack, tried to invent her own facts on Sunday on CNN and gets caught by my colleague Dave Weigel at the Washington Independent. Matalin claimed:
We inherited a recession from President Clinton and we inherited the most tragic attack on our own soil in our nation's history. And President Bush dealt with it.
