Mitsubishi recalls 2006-07 Endeavors because of seat belt malfunction

On February 4, 2008, Mitsubishi Motors North America Inc. recalled about 7,340 2006-2007 Mitsubishi Endeavor vehicles because of a defect in the front passenger seat belt assembly. Seat belt anchors on the recalled Mitsubishis may separate if the vehicles are involved in an accident.

If the seat belt anchor separates, the seat belt may not properly restrain the passenger, which could result in catastrophic injury from a car accident.

Mitsubishi dealers will replace the defective seat belt assembly free of charge. Customers may contact Mitsubishi at 1-800-222-0037. For more information, consumers may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration?s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236, or visit safercar.gov.
