Virginia Tech University administrators were negligent in the death of a 21-year-old student who committed suicide in 2007, a lawsuit filed by the student?s parents claims. In the lawsuit, the parents of Daniel Kim allege that school officials failed to respond to a written warning that the Kim was suicidal. The lawsuit seeks $43 million in damages and asks the university to promote a measure requiring colleges and universities to notify parents when a student may be in danger.
