Up In The Air

Up In The Air is good, and the hard charging young businesswoman, played by Anna Kendrick, is great.  I like to gripe about novels, and here, the novel that putatively inspired the film - mopey, hypocondriacal, and failing to plow ground not already plowed by Death of a Salesman - contributes very little to the zippy screenplay.  One good thing: they added other, female characters; I'm not sure I could have handled a Spaudling Gray-style monologue, even by one as charming as George Clooney.  I'm also not sure that soft acoustic guitar folk music was the soundtrack I would have chosen, but if you thirst for movies about business - and I know some people who do - then you should be glad they made this one.
