Bus adventures

I have been taking the bus a lot lately.

Yesterday I went to see PBB and Becca! Becca was asleep the whole time but I got to hear some adorable newborn noises. Newborn-land is like New York City -- I love to visit, but I'm glad I don't live there.

Today I went to pick up the car. Which wouldn't start a week and a half ago, causing some of the busy-ness that has prevented blogging. (Also causing all of the bus-taking.) It has been towed twice to two different garages, neither of which could figure out what was wrong.

It looks like we need to buy a car. As much as I dislike consumer debt, we don't have a lot of disposable cash at the moment, K's daycare is about a mile from the nearest public transportation, and we live in a place with semi-frequent snowstorms.

We were crossing our fingers that both cars would survive until I graduated. The one that died is actually the "new" car, a mere 9 years old and 150,000 miles. It would have been okay when it was just the two of us -- in fact, we were always a one-car household pre-baby -- but being stranded with a toddler doesn't sound like fun.

So... time to get a loan. Another loan, I should say. And, blech, time to go car shopping. At least we only have to do it once a decade.
