On February 4, 2008, Volvo Cars of North America recalled about 1,900 of its 2008 Volvo V70 and 2008 Volvo XC70 vehicles because rear integrated booster seats in the vehicles do not meet federal motor vehicle safety standards for labeling requirements. The recalled Volvo vehicles are missing information that indicates catastrophic injury from a car accident or death can occur if instructions are not followed.
The warning label is required as part of an effort to help reduce the number of children killed or catastrophically injured from a car accident.
Customers may contact Volvo at 1-800-458-1552 to receive correct warning information. For more information, consumers may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration?s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236, or visit safercar.gov.
