: China HearsayHoliday Conspiracy Weather Theories
By Stan
Anyone else in Beijing find it a bit too convenient that we have rain forecast for today and tomorrow, and then sunny in the mid/high 20s for the October 1 holiday?
I have no definitive information on weather control efforts, mind you, but the timing is interesting, to say the least.
Back in the old days, my wife and I used to spend the last couple of days before a big holiday going out food shopping — stocking up on basic stuff and water because all the stores would be closed.
These days, almost everything stays open, particularly fast food joints and supermarkets. Worst-case scenario is that some places will close on Thursday, but that’s about it.
So at least I don’t have to go running around in the rain, which is nice.
