Here at www.aconnecticutlawblog.com , I try not to take myself too seriously. The practice of law is serious enough.

In keeping with this spirit and this writer’s love of baseball, www.aconnecticutlawblog.com (read me) has decided to sponsor two www.baseball-reference.com pages.

For those of you who don’t know, www.baseball-reference.com is probably the premier website for baseball statistics on the internet. Every year it gets better. The site is free and relies in part on sponsorships of individual player pages to keep the site operating at no cost to users.

It should come as no surprise that all current Red Sox player pages have been purchased (even Alex Cora’s page).

With that being the case, www.aconnecticutlawblog.com choose to sponsor the individual player pages of former Red Sox, John Trautwein and hopefully future Red Sox and one-time Red Sox draftee, Mark Teixeira.

Why John Trautwein? I met him at Fenway Park in 1988. He was a really decent guy and unlike most players that I met when I was younger, actually spoke with me for a few minutes while he signed my baseball card. Sons of Sam Horn wiki has the best John Trautwein information page on the internet if you care to find out more about him.

Why Mark Teixeira? I know a good deal when I see one. Sponsoring Mark Teixeira’s page was significantly more expensive than sponsoring John Trautwein’s page but it is also likely to get more views this season and was less expensive than what people have paid to sponsor most Red Sox players this season.  Teixeira is also a free agent at the end of the season and would certainly be attractive to either the Red Sox or the Yankees.

He could also be traded in season. If he winds up anywhere but Fenway, Teixeira is to www.aconnecticutlawblog.com what he is to the Atlanta Braves, a short-term rental.

Before I hear from either John Trautwein’s or Mark Teixeira’s lawyers, they are in no way affiliated with www.aconnnecticutlawblog.com . They do not endorse any of the views or opinions of www.aconnecticutlawblog.com and have probably never heard of or read this site.  I am simply sponsoring their baseball-reference pages for the next year.

I hope to do more “marketing” at baseball-reference.com in the near future. I have my eye on some player pages that may come available in the future.
