By Richard Binder
Attorney Helen B. Kim, a securities litigation partner in Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP?s Los Angeles and New York offices, is the new president of the Women Lawyers of Los Angeles. She assumes the WLALA presidency less than a year after the end of her term as president of the 40,000-member National Asian Pacific American Bar Association.
Kim currently represents public and private companies and their directors, officers and principal shareholders in complex commercial litigation, including the defense of securities and other class actions, shareholder derivative suits and regulatory investigations. She received a master?s degree in classical piano performance from Juilliard in 1984, but later switched to law and in 1988 was admitted to practice law in both California and New York after attending Yale Law School.
