: BoardBuzz: NSBA's Daily WeblogH1N1 making you nervous?
BoardBuzz is pleased to say that NSBA has been at the forefront of helping schools deal with the H1N1 pandemic. We?ve been letting our members and others involved with schools know about any new guidance, information or tools schools can use to help manage an outbreak in a timely fashion.
So BoardBuzz was happy to hear about a great new webpage that NSBA created to help school leaders and staff access all the pertinent H1N1 information in one place. The H1N1 Planning for Schools webpage is a one-stop resource that makes finding information about H1N1 planning within schools easy and quick. So instead of having to go to the CDC website, then the U.S. Department of Education website, and/or wait for an e-newsletter from some organization that will include a few new resources related to the issue, you can go to one webpage and find it all!
The webpage includes relevant resources that are essential for schools to: prevent the spread of the H1N1 virus and track its incidence; plan for and manage a flu outbreak; report school closings; better understand the role of schools serving as H1N1 vaccination sites; and stay abreast of the latest news and guidance related to the virus. NSBA?s School Health Programs will regularly be updating the webpage to include new items; and to facilitate the sharing of information, an RSS feed has been set up within the ?H1N1 News and Resources? section of the webpage. By signing up, people can receive information on newly released resources as they are added to the webpage such as guidance for school closures or distance learning.
But NSBA?s help doesn?t stop there. On September 15, NSBA?s National Affiliate Program will be joining the CDC and US Department of Education experts to host a webinar that will help provide responses to many questions and concerns related to H1N1 planning within schools.
