Seit kurzem gibt es eBooks bei google auch im praktischen ePub-Format. Dieses Format ist für PDAs und ähnliche Geräte optimiert und besser zu lesen als PDFs. Darumer berichten u.a. intern.de und Inside Google Books: Download Over a Million Public Domain Books from Google Books in the Open EPUB Format. Ich habe es allerdings noch nicht getestet, wie z.B. Stanza dieses Format darstellt und wie ich die Dateien überhaupt auf das iPhone bekomme.
So gibt es den interessanten Titel Ueber öffentliche Bibliotheken besonders deutsche Universitätsbibliotheken und Vorschläge zu einer zweckmäßigen Einrichtung derselben von Friedrich Adolph Ebert nur als PDF …
