: Fight The Hypo?Perspective? or ?Wishes for a New Semester.?
By Dr. Bombay
I was sitting this evening, procrastinating, with my new baby curled up in a bouncy seat next to me, and I started to think. As the Sherpa has noted, school is only days away, and I?ve got more than a few things to do to get ready. Compared with his level of preparation, you would think I?d never been to school period, let along waded through two years of this muck.
We spend a lot of time of this site talking about things we think you should know: about our school, law school in general, and how to face down everything from that crappy professor to OCI. So here?s one more thing I think you should know: this law school thing just doesn?t matter that much.
Now I?m not saying that it should be taken lightly. In fact, given the commitment of time and energy required to do it correctly, it should be one of the most sober decisions you make. Ever. What I?m saying is that it needs to be viewed in the context of life in general.
My wish for you dear friends is that along with all the wonderful things you?re going to learn and do this semester, you?re able to successfully nail your stresses and complaints to the wall with a ten penny fashioned from perspective. Even if you just ate it on your Contracts exam, at least you?re complaining to your friends about it over a beer, and not in the Oncology ward.
My kid just yawned. A big, soul cleansing yawn that suggests exhaustion on par with man?s greatest toils. Who cares how I did in Torts?
