The Washington Primary Tonight

By wt

ADVERTISEMENTS
You read that right. Not just Hawaii and Wisconsin.

Under state law, Washington State has to have a primary. But the parties don't have to allocate any of their national convention delegates on the basis of the result.

The GOP is allocating 19 of the 40 convention delegates to the primary.

The Democrats? Zero. They all got allocated at the caucus last weekend.

Uh oh. Well, maybe nobody will vote.

[P]eople appear to be voting in large numbers.

Almost all of Washington voters cast ballots by mail, and Mr. Reed said as many as 30 percent of voters in some counties had cast ballots more than a week before the election. He predicted that 47 percent or more of the state?s 3.2 million voters would participate, a record.

Whoops.
