REBOUND Act

Today, Mike cosponsored the Reducing Barack Obama’s Unsustainable Deficit (REBOUND) Act of 2009 (H.R. 3140).

The language of the bill is short and sweet:

* It will repeal the spending portion of the President?s ?stimulus? package, saving taxpayers $460 billion
* It leaves intact the package?s tax relief and unemployment benefits
* It will prohibit the Treasury Secretary from obligating any further TARP funds, saving taxpayers $150 billion
* It will require all repayments of TARP money to go exclusively to debt reduction - no open-ended slush fund

With unemployment on the rise and the economy in a downward spiral, now is not the time to enact a second so-called ?stimulus?.
