Legal Research Center Welcomes New Director

By John Adkins

ADVERTISEMENTS

A big welcome to Professor Karl Gruben, the new LRC Director and Associate Dean for Information Services.  He began work July 1st and has enjoyed the relaxing summertime environment here at the LRC: NOT!

The day before Karl arrived, a leak was discovered in the tax section that had wet a big part of the collection, causing mold to grow.  Much of those materials had to be thrown away.  The tax collection is now closed as repairs are made to the pipes that leaked. This should last for another day or so.

On Wednesday, the Reading Room will be closed down in the evening to allow for repairs of those pipes.  We hope that will be finished by Thursday.

Meanwhile, the leak in the basement has been fixed and those books will be reshelved.

All in all, a fine time for Karl to get acquainted with the LRC facilities.

Welcome, Karl!
