Milwaukee's sick-leave ordinance struck down

"A Wisconsin judge has struck down Milwaukee's sick leave law, a fledgling ordinance that never really took off since voters approved it last fall. The local law would have required local businesses to provide employees with paid sick days. San Francisco and Washington have also adopted paid sick-leave laws in recent years, but so far Milwaukee's ordinance is the only one to face a legal challenge."

"A trio of pending congressional bills is proposing regulation that would create a new industry for generic versions of biologics, a class of medicines created from living tissues or organisms that have much larger molecules than pharmaceutical drugs. We asked Chad Landmon, an intellectual property litigation partner at Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider, about the pending legislation and the legal impact of regulating biosimilars."

One of his regular customers, a founding partner of a personal injury law firm, noticed Zervopoulos' hard work and dedication to customer service ? and offered him his first law firm job. It's been working out well ever since."

"So you've taken your client's case all the way to the Supreme Court and the justices have asked the solicitor general of the United States whether they should grant review. What are your chances of a nod in your favor? Not bad, according to an unusual study of two of the high court's most important "information-gathering" tools ? a call for the views of the solicitor general, known as a CVSG, and a call for a response, or CFR, to a petition for certiorari."

Judge rejects student's counterclaims in high-profile downloading case

"A Massachusetts federal judge denied a Boston University student's bid to bring counterclaims against record companies and the Recording Industry Association of America in their copyright infringement lawsuit targeting college students who make illegal Internet music downloads".
