: Legal Pad | LAAttorney John Grasberger pleads guilty, resigns from bar, for child porn

La Mesa attorney John Grasberger plead guilty to possessing child pornography yesterday, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Grasberger, 60, faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison for the 10 to 150 images of children engaged in sexual acts, discovered on his computer in June 2006.
Grasberger resigned from California Bar Association, where he'd been a member for 29 years.
Internet sex crimes crackdown fuels defense work
Internet-based sex crimes, like child pornography, are increasingly becoming a part of criminal defense attorneys' workload partly due a law enforcement crackdown, finds an article in next week's National Law Journal.
Los Angeles criminal defense attorney Stephen Rodriguez told The NLJ that Internet sex crimes make up 25% of his practice.
