Remembering Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

As we approach the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we have added three websites to the library catalog.

The first site is The Martin King, Jr. Papers Project at Stanford University. In addition to an extensive King biography, encyclopedia, and collection of audio recordings, the website includes the most complete inventory available of King's major sermons, speeches, public statements, published writings, manuscripts, and substantial notes and outlines. In addition to hyperlink to the catalog above, the URL is http://www.stanford.edu/group/King

The second site is the Civil Rights Litigation Clearinghouse produces by Washington University School of Law in St. Louis. This site is a collection of documents and information about civil rights cases in many different case categories. The cases focus on policy or operational change, not damages. In addition to the hyperlink to the catalog above, the URL is http://clearinghouse.wustl.edu/

The final site is Civilrights.org which was founded by the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights and the Leadership Conference Education Fund. The site provides information on issues such as affirmative action, disability, education, housing, immigration and hate crimes. There are also links to the text of landmark civil rights cases and legislation. In addition to the hyperlink to the catalog above, the URL is http://civilrights.org/
