If there is one thing which you can do on twitter that will not only help you, retweeting will also help those you follow and read on twitter. The statement below is without a doubt one of the best when it comes to explaining how important retweeting is.

What do we mean by retweeting?

Take for example the tweet you see above, if you are on twitter you would want to “retweet” this tweet to your followers. You want to RT items you think you followers might be interested in seeing themselves. This is one of the ways you are adding value to the conversation.

For those of us who are using third party application like TweetDeck or Seesmic, it is very easy to retweet something we want our followers to know about. Just hit retweet button on a tweet and it is done.

There is truly nothing else on twitter you can do which will help those you follow more than a retweet. And best of all, you are giving something back to twitter and not asking for anything in return.
