Rumor mill yields Wilson Sonsini CEO as ambassador to Japan

According to various published reports in the Japanese media, the head of Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati has been chosen as the U.S. ambassador to that country.

John Roos has been Wilson, Sonsini's CEO since 2005 and has been a partner at the firm since 1988. He was a major valley fundraiser for Barack Obama's presidential campaign, and stumped for votes in the Iowa caucuses for him, along with his wife, Susie, a labor attorney.

There has been no official announcement from either the Obama administration or Wilson Sonsini.
