Bad Ideas for Helping Newspapers

Bruce Sanford and Bruce Brown have an op-ed in the Washington Post lamenting the problems in journalism and proposing mostly bad ideas to help save it. Their basic argument is that Congress should take a series of steps to hurt the internet, particularly search engines and bloggers, to help traditional journalism survive. But I think they miss the boat completely on some of them. They particularly seem to have it in for Google and want to prevent them from indexing what appears on other webpages:
