: Lenz BlogBrian Kahin Amicus Brief
By Karl-Friedrich Lenz
Brian Kahin has written a submission to the European Patent Office in the software patent question for the American Computer and Communications Industry Association, members of which generate over 200 billion dollars in revenue and employ about one million people.
That submission makes a good policy case against software patents. It is a great summary of the recent developments in American case law and academic discussion about the subject. I am also pleased to note that American law is moving in the right direction in this area.
