Answer:
American General Corporation, Houston, TX, is one of the many operating companies within American International Group, Inc. (AIG). On August 30, 2001 AIG finalized its acquisition of American General Corporation (American General).
In the structured settlement industry AIG Structured Settlements, based in Amarillo, TX, distributes annuities through licensed structured settlement brokers and settlement planners who are appointed with either or both American General Life Insurance Company and American International Life Assurance Company of New York.
