Reed Smith grabs head of Greenberg Traurig's China practice

Jinshu "John" Zhang joined Reed Smith's Los Angeles office as a partner in their corporate & securities group.

Zhang previously launched and led Greenberg Traurig's China practice and was a shareholder at their L.A. office. Reed Smith opened offices in Hong Kong and Beijing last month. The offices have more than 100 lawyers, as well as in-house translators and other support staff.

Zhang has experience in mergers, acquisitions and private placements and public offerings of securities with Chinese companies in the U.S. He's been lead corporate counsel for companies in investment banking, private equity, pharmaceuticals, consumer electronics, videogames, furniture, automotive parts, to information technology and entertainment.

Most of Zhang's clients will follow him, Zhang told The Recorder.
