Help Protect Nursing Home Residents By Supporting Legislation Eliminating Mandatory Arbitration

By Levin & Perconti

ADVERTISEMENTS

On April 29, 2009, NCCNHR and Fair Arbitration Now Coalition will sponsor Arbitration Fairness Day. People are encouraged to show their support for the Fairness in Nursing Home Arbitration Act (S. 512 and H.R. 1237) and the Arbitration Fairness Act (H.R. 1020). If you are interested in supporting this legislation, we encourage you to call or send a letter to your U.S. Representative and Senator. You may also sign a petition by following the link.

Each day, nursing home residents and their families unknowingly sign mandatory arbitration agreements that take away their right to a jury trial if they are injured or killed as a result of nursing home negligence. This legislation would eliminate all current and future arbitration agreements and protect residents from future nursing home abuse and neglect.
