: Jolly LawgerBachelor Party Mayhem (10/27/08)
By Steve Pirates
This weekend was my bachelor party. My fiance and I had long drawn out discussions about what would and would not happen at my bachelor party. For instance, on the issues of strippers we had a very large disagreement. She thought I should have strippers, I politely declined. She thought I should do something grand, I was indifferent about doing anything at all. I just wanted to hang out and have a good relaxing time.
My best-man, Brian planned out a wonderful evening of bar-hopping and beer swilling. The day began in the afternoon with a few rounds of Madden ?04 (the best edition ever). Then my buddy Chuck came over and we all went to Hooters for wings and beer.
After a few pitchers, and watching of the World Series, we decided to head to the hip new bowling alley downtown, East Village Tavern and Bowl. I?d heard the place was really cool, and since I love bowling, I was excited to go. When we got there, we realize that it had been a trick, East Village is not a bowling alley with a cool bar attached. It is a cool bar with four lanes attached. Needless to say, I was disappointed with the place, so we split and headed to San Diego?s finest bar. Star Bar. Star Bar needs no further explanation.
We finished up a few more drinks and then headed back to Brian?s place, where we stayed up the rest of the night talking about shit. It was a lot of fun. I understand that Katie wanted me to go out and have a great send-off to singlehood, but really, what better way to say good-bye to being a bachelor than to sit around drinking beer and playing Madden?
