In the past, national political leaders might have been especially concerned and raised troubling questions about the epidemic of  mass homicides, including police killings, that have included  58 people over the past month. Yet, many past champions of strict gun control are silent.  According to Newsweekthis includes "top Obama White House officials who have squelehed any talk within the administration about pushing gun control measures".
