The West Palm Beach office of Akerman Senterfitt, a prestigious AmLaw 200 firm with a significant IP practice, seeks an outstanding patent attorney with 3+ years of patent prosecution experience to join its sophisticated patent practice. Specific responsibilities include drafting and prosecuting complex electrical/mechanical and software patent applications, preparing legal opinions, and providing litigation support. Candidate must possess superior law school credentials (top 25% of class or better), and must have an electrical or computer engineering degree. Computer science candidates may be considered depending on breadth of technology experience. Experience in telecommunications is considered a plus. Candidate must be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Florida Bar membership or willingness to sit for next examination is also required.
