: Law Firm BloggerWhat Is the Purpose of Your Law Blog?
By Amy Derby

Yesterday in Kevin O’Keefe’s LinkedIn Legal Blogging group someone asked blogging lawyers a few questions, one of which was “What is the purpose of your blog?”
I think it’s a great question, and I would love to know all of your answers.
Many of you who read and comment regularly have already shared your goals with me. But there are plenty of folks who read here with whom I haven’t spoken.
I would love it if everyone would chime in!
- Are you blogging to be seen as an expert in your practice area?
- Does your blog directly attract clients? Or do you hope it will?
- Are you blogging to network with fellow lawyers?
- Do you blog for yourself? For fun? Simply because you like to write?
- Is your blog a community? A research source?
A combination of some or all of these? Another reason entirely?
Who are you blogging for?
Has the way you blog, or your audience/readership, changed since you first started blogging?
