Android App Equals Easy BitTorrent Downloading

By Ryan Singel, Kevin Poulsen, Sarah Lai Stirland, Kim Zetter, and David Kravets

ADVERTISEMENTS

Bartor For Android users, here's the app for those too lazy to perform the machinations of downloading purloined movies from BitTorrent sites like The Pirate Bay.

For $2.99, "BarTor" for the Android allows copyright scofflaws to scan movie bar codes of videos -- like those in the aisle at the local chain store. The videos are automatically downloaded to home computers running uTorrent with web interfaces.

Two weeks ago, we reported about a similar app in the development stages. But BarTor, developed by Nex.Software, is the first to market and ready to rumble.

Score it here. Let us know how you like it.
