Autonomy Corp Acquires Interwoven

It seems like just the other day when IManage was acquired by Interwoven.  Not much happened to change things in the document management world when that acquisition happened.  In an announcement today, Autonomy Corporation announced that is has sealed the deal to acquire Interwoven. 

Autonomy is a global leader in infrastructure software.  Their current corporate clientele include such giants as AOL, Boeing, Citigroup, Coca Cola, Daimler AG, Deutsche Bank, DLA Piper, Ericsson, FedEx, Ford, GlaxoSmithKline, Lloyds TSB, NASA, Nestle, the New York Stock Exchange, Reuters, Shell, T-Mobile, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Over 20,000 global companies, law firms and federal agencies currently use their software.  On it’s face it’s a good marriage which promises improvements in the ease of information exchange, discovery, as well as improved security of data.
