: Law Blog - WSJ.comOffice Hours with Professor Obama?
By Dan Slater
Have you ever read one of those nifty profiles of Barack Obama and thought “what would a Con Law class be like with him in the front of the room?”
For those of you pondering law school at the University of Chicago in 2010, the possibility of having Professor Obama grill you with questions about the Equal Protection Clause may not be foreclosed. Obama’s bio on the University of Chicago Law School Web site states simply that the “Senior Lecturer in Law” is “currently a candidate for the office of President of the United States” and, as such, is “on leave of absence.” (HT: Daily Journal)
If Obama’s campaign for president fails, would he return to the ivory tower? We have no idea, but if he does, Chicago Law School students might be on the look out for the following classes: Constitutional Law III: Equal Protection and Substantive Due Process; Current Issues in Racism & the Law; and Voting Rights & the Democratic Process.
Anyone out there ever have a class with Obama? We’d love to hear tales of his classroom approach!
