: New York City Personal Injury LawyerRepublican Governors Rejecting Stimulus Money for Unemployment
By Marc Jay Bern
Now that stimulus money for the unemployed is starting to flow in, some republican governors are giving their share of the 7 billions dollars a stern no. These republican governors have said no to their share of the money because they feel that the taxes attached to this money are far to high and would only cause greater problems in the future. 'Texas Gov. Rick Perry said he doesn't want the stimulus money because his state would have to raise taxes on businesses or cut back on benefits once the federal funding runs out.' In effect, for states to be able to qualify for their share of the stimulus money, their state must first increase unemployment benefits. Other states that have decided not to accept the stimulus money include South Carolina, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama thus far. Democrats on the other hand have stated their opinion that further cutting unemployment benefits will have a tremendous impact on the laid off workers. By further putting them into the whole could create a type of vacuum that would make it extremely hard for anyone to get out of. Labor law disputes are on the rise as more and more people find themselves out of work. If you feel that you have been falsely let go or laid off, contact super lawyers at Napoli Bern Ripka, LLP as soon as possible.
