Manhattan Pedestrian Accident Caused By Taxis Kills 2

ADVERTISEMENTS

On October 4, the website ny1.com reported in an article that two young women suffered fatal injuries in a terrible pedestrian accident in Manhattan involving two taxis in the East Village of Manhattan. Stephaine Dees, 26, from Queens, and Ann Sullivan, 26, from Albany were walking across 14th Street along First Avenue sometime around 3:30 a.m. when they were hit.

The New York Times interviewed witness Jose Medrano 22, of Long Island who said, the street lights had turned yellow as the two young women were crossing the intersection together. The first taxi hit one girl and propelled the other onto oncoming traffic.

?This one taxi tried to beat the light,? Medrano said. ?He hit the first girl. She flew up and into oncoming traffic. He ran over the second girl.? Medrano first heard a thud then he ?saw the girl bounce as the wheel went over her. I was shocked.?
