: Peanut Butter BurritoDan on Jeopardy: TOC Quarterfinals
By Andrea
The Press:
-Jeopardy.com: Tournament of Champions site, full of photos and awkward interview clips!
-Boston Herald Inside Track: We Hear... (small item in their entertainment blog where they call his boss a Rep. instead of Sen. (HERESY!) and get his winnings wrong by one order of magnitude.)
-Staten Island Advance: Staten Island son gets second shot at 'Jeopardy!' (in which they spell his name wrong twice. I suspect these items are not high-priority news stories.)
The Preview/Meandering Introduction:
JeopardyBlogging is back! Woo!
Forget at your own peril: The Jeopardy Tournament of Champions starts tomorrow night, and Dan is in the very first quarterfinal game. To read the back archives about his original 9-game run, start at page 5 of the "entertainment" category and work forward.
It already seems like years ago: windy Las Vegas in January, the duffel bag full of flashcards, and sitting on a flimsy folding chair late at night to watch this game tape. We had to tape after the Consumer Electronics Show closed for the day because it was noisy. With the jet lag, my body said it was already past my bedtime. Dan's playing Carl and Cora - Cora being the champ Mom and I breathed a sigh of relief about when he narrowly missed playing her in his very first game. Darn it!
For those of you who aren't TOC experts: Nine people are going to advance to the semis - the five quarterfinal winners AND the 4 next-highest scores, so you don't have to win to advance. Oh, the strategy!
