Walsh Wants Walsh Act Funded

America's Most Wanted host John Walsh is calling on Congress to fund the Adam Walsh Act, a law named after his murdered 6 year-old son. From the Amarillo Globe-News:  John Walsh, host of "America's Most Wanted," told a standing-room-only crowd in the Amarillo Civic Center to contact their representatives in Washington to fund the latest child protection act he lobbied to help pass. The Adam Walsh Act, named after Walsh's slain 6-year-old son, would classify sex offenders into three tiers and require tighter restrictions on resident registration. "You can write," Walsh told the crowd. "You can call." The legislation was passed in 2006 but has still not been funded by Congress. The legislation has come under criticism for being too harsh, including handing a life sentence to a homeless man who couldn't maintain a physical address...continue to full post
