Why it was a happy anniversary for civil partnerships

Quietly, and without ceremony, the third anniversary of the introduction of the Civil Partnerships Act has come and gone. It excited little curiosity or comment, and perhaps that in itself is an indication as to how well the legislation has become part of the social fabric of Britain.
