: The Faculty LoungeBurris Admits He Tried to Raise $$ for Blago
By Calvin Massey
ADVERTISEMENTS
According to a transcript of a colloquy with reporters released by the Chicago Tribune, Senator Roland Burris (D-Ill.) now admits that he tried, albeit unsuccessfuly, to raise cash for Governor Blagojevich at a time when Burris knew he was under consideration for the appointment to President Obama's vacated Senate seat. Rob Blagojevich, the Gov's brother, was talking only $10 ,000 to $15,000, which appears to be chump change given the financial ambitions harbored by the Gov, according to the indictment. Even so, the smell from Illinois continues to waft across the land. Full post as published by The Faculty Lounge on February 17, 2009 (boomark / email).
