Signs of Affection

By Andrea

ADVERTISEMENTS

Apparently when I was a baby and I couldn't talk, I used to bite my mom on the shoulder. The doctor told her this was because I loved her and couldn't tell her yet. Cute. Dan finds this story adorable. 28 years later, it's last week and Becca rolls on top of me and BITES ME IN THE FACE. On the cheek, to be exact. I wrote that one off, though, because we were being crazy and screaming and laughing and pretending to eat each other in various ways. Still, she now has four teeth on the bottom and one on the top (which looks silly), so, OW.

Fast forward to today, when I hold my arms open and Becca toddles right into them, lifts her head up and BITES ME IN THE FACE AGAIN. I was so surprised I yelled OW, FUCK! right into her ear, which is seriously not good parenting, but man, it hurt! And also, she didn't even react. You cannot rattle this girl.

Dan found THIS adorable, because he thinks she's trying to kiss me. I find this theory suspect, because she still does that baby "UMMM" type kiss to her stuffed monkey, even though she won't do it to me anymore. Although maybe she thinks I'm as awesome as green beans and wants to show her appreciation by treating me like she treats a tray of steamed vegetables. Anyway, I guess I should say "No" the next time she does it before I start going to work with tooth marks on my face.
