: The Faculty LoungeScott Taylor Guest Blogging With Us
By propertyprof
It's my great pleasure to announce that Scott Taylor is coming into the faculty lounge to sit with us for a spell.
Scott teaches and writes in the areas of tax, nonprofit institutions, and Native American law, at St. Thomas University's law school. He has taught at St. Thomas since 2002 and before that he taught for many years at the University of New Mexico. He has also been a visiting professor at New York Law School, the University of California at Davis, Lewis and Clark, and Seton Hall.
He serves as one of five Commissioners on the Navajo Tax Commission, which administers, on behalf of the Navajo Nation, the largest and most successful tribal tax system in the United States. And his is also a justice on the Court of Appeals of the Prairie Island Indian Community and a commissioner of the Tax Commission of Tesuque Pueblo.
Much of Scott's scholarship focuses on taxation in Indian Country. Some of his recent scholarship is available at bepress and at ssrn. You may recall in particular Scott's recent article that looked at the relationship between spirituality of law students and their academic performance.
I'm really looking forward to listening to him.
