For years, I?ve thought that the best coffee you can buy in a supermarket is Folger?s. During the 2005 evacuation, cut off from my usual sources of high-powered caffeine (CC?s, PJ?s, and Rue de la Course), the only thing that stood between me and caffeine withdrawal was Folger?s. This morning, via What About Clients?, I learned that Procter & Gamble, which owns Folger?s, is spinning it off and offering the stock to its shareholders.
What does this have to do with New Orleans? Simple: Folger?s largest coffee-making facility is located in New Orleans. So if you buy stock in Folger?s, you?ll be investing in New Orleans.
