: Kentucky Law BlogBAR: Deckard resigns as KBA Director; search begins for replacement
By Michael Stevens
Jim Deckard resigns as KBA Director. He only served two years. Search begins next month. In a world of change, we hope the bar finds a director he can embrace the fine traditions of the past and look to the future.
Rather than leave it up entirely to the KBA and CJ, why don't you provide some input on names of attorneys you think would do a great job at the helm!!
Deckard returns to private practice
By Andrew Wolfson ? The Courier-Journal ? February 6, 2009
The executive director of the Kentucky Bar Association is leaving after only two years to join a Lexington law firm. Jim Deckard, 39, said Thursday that he will resign April 1.
The previous director, Bruce Davis, held the job for 24 years.

Deckard * * * was chief counsel to former Gov. Ernie Fletcher and chief of staff to former Chief Justice Joseph Lambert. . . .
Running the 15,000-member state bar was "a great experience," Deckard said, but he thought it was time to get back into private practice. He worked for a Nashville firm before Lambert hired him.
