It’s a Real Winter Wonderland Out There Today

And I was, in fact, humming “Winter Wonderland” this morning while I shoveled out the driveway at 5:00 am. (While the 3 other humans in the house, plus the cat, were snug in bed. But I’m not bitter.)

Anyway, I felt secure knowing that I was well within my rights to hum that tune. (For now. I’m not real optimistic about the future.) But God help me if I wanted to sing “Winter Wonderland” on YouTube. My video would get zapped by the copyright cops. That’s what happened to this young woman.

Crazy. But it’s not the first time this this has happened, and it certainly won’t be the last as music labels try to hold on to every last little bit of their rapidly shrinking empires.
