CO - Prison secretary sentenced for sex with inmate

View the article here 01/30/2009 DENVER (AP) - A former prison secretary has been sentenced to six months in prison and ordered to register as a sex offender after pleading guilty to having a sexual relationship with an inmate. U.S. District Court Judge Robert E. Blackburn sentenced 47-year-old Janine Sligar of Wray on Thursday for sexual abuse of a ward. He also gave her five years of supervised release. Sligar worked at the Florence Federal Correctional Complex for 14 years, and was a secretary at the Federal Prison Camp in Florence when the allegations surfaced. A federal grand jury in Denver indicted her in July; she pleaded guilty in October. Court records say Sligar met the inmate, _____, while he cleaned her office.
