Why isn't every local federal courts reporter doing what The Birmingham News' Robert Gordon did in this Sunday story? Using stats provided by the U.S. Sentencing Commission, Gordon compared Alabama to the other states in the 11th Circuit to show how common it is for its inmates to see their sentences reduced when they challenge their crack-cocaine prison terms.
