ADVERTISEMENTS
What K has been up to:- Drinking. Last week he learned how to drink from a sippy cup by himself.
- Eating. All manner of things, including dalya (an Indian dish of cracked wheat, lentils, and vegetables), spinach casserole, and quiche. Last night I made him a scrambled egg with broccoli and cheese for dinner, and he had strawberries for dessert. I'm glad he's moving away from the jar food, which he preferred for a while.
- Climbing. Today he climbed up a whole flight of stairs! (Well, half a flight, because we have a split-level. He got from the basement all the way up to the landing, chasing a picture of his blue friend.)
- Taking steps. Not on his own, but now if you hold his hands he'll lift up one foot, then another, and lurch around in a circle.
- Asserting himself. His new favorite activity is demanding to be picked up and then pointing at things and saying, "GAH," which means, take me to THAT. Unfortunately THAT is usually the thermostat or Daddy's laptop or the microwave. But THAT changes about every three seconds, so he can be distracted.
- Getting into everything. Including all the kitchen cabinets and, of course, the toy cabinet.
