What We're Reading

By Anne Skove, Esq.

ADVERTISEMENTS

Rather, "what we would be reading if everyone took their naps on time." These two are on our list:

  • Art of Justice: An Eyewitness View of Thirty Infamous Trials, Marilyn Church and Lou Young. This is a nifty book covering some of the most (in)famous trials from the 1970s to today -- Fisher, Gotti, Goetz, Simpson, Stewart, and more. If you're interested in what these types of trials mean to the general public and which trials tickle the country's fancy, this looks like the place to find it. The author is a journalist; his wife, a courtroom illustrator, provides the visuals. The library wants this one back soon.

  • Judge Richard S. Arnold: A Legacy of Justice on the Federal Bench, Polly J. Price. Who was first in Scalia's law school class? Who was one of the pair of brothers (the only ones, to our knowledge) sitting on the same Circuit? Who serves as an inspiration to Justice Ginsburg? Judge Richard S. Arnold, that's who. We were lucky enough to get an advance copy, stay tuned.
