"A&E's new real-life series PARKING WARS, is a behind-the-scenes ride with the men and women of the Philadelphia Parking Authority as they manage the chaos that is every driver's greatest nightmare.... parking!
The car is an integral part of the American dream. It is one of the most tangible expressions of a person's freedom and identity. When taken away, the response is often not pretty. PARKING WARS is a first-hand and decidedly playful look at what happens when the citizens of Philadelphia comes face-to-face with the PPA."
If this show makes those effin' meter maids in Philadelphia out to be the victims, I'm going to rage all over the place, I just know it. For those regular readers of this blog, you might remember how my car was legally parked and towed it to an illegal spot when some private construction company wanted all the cars moved. I was never notified and had to file a stolen vehicle report with the Philadelphia Police Department. Almost two months later, I had to find out from a notice of unpaid parking tickets that my car was on another street in Philadelphia, parked in a school zone. None of the meter maids checked to see if the vehicle was reported missing or stolen despite it being parked in the same location for nearly two months, with about 20 tickets on the windshield. They kept piling them on. When I found it (without any help from the police department or the PPA), they had to impound it because I no longer had the keys or title to the car due to its being reported stolen. I went to one ghetto part of the city to settle the title and then had to go to the opposite side of the city (in another horrible area) to get the car out of impound where they scribbled stuff in marker that took six weeks to come off and was generally treated like a criminal deadbeat. In addition, I had to go to Parking Court in order to settle the unpaid tickets AND the impound fees. It was a nightmare.
I don't know if I can watch it. I just don't know if it'd be good for my health.
