Setbacks Again

ADVERTISEMENTS
Finally got offered a temp job doing contract editing and review that actually paid halfway decently and was nearby. Then the bomb drops. The training is on Tuesday, the same day as my Philly interview. Can I come in on Monday, or maybe Wednesday? No, Tuesday.

I've been free pretty much every day since returning from England and of course, the one day, I absolutely can't make it is the end all, be all start date.

I had to turn it down. I wish I could say that there will be another project to fill my pockets right around the corner, but my experience since September has not been at all positive. Unfortunately, I don't know exactly how much this position in Philly is paying, exactly what it entails, and basically whether it would be worth it to uproot my life there, so honestly, it's a big gamble. I called to inquire more about the position, and really didn't get that much more information. I'm going to try to be optimistic and enjoy my time there though.

And, the next possible swearing-in date for New York is February 28, the same day as the Massachusetts bar. So I may have to reschedule until late-March. I hate to sound like a whiny bitch in all of these posts, but I'm just looking for the CHANCE that I won't have to mooch off my family forever and can put my law degree to good use.

I know. I just have to be patient. Patient, patient.
