It's written by editorial board member Maureen Downey.Here's an extended excerpt of this must-read editorial:Many people are frustrated and angry that a Fulton County jury failed to condemn courthouse shooter Brian Nichols to death. If any convicted killer deserves to die, they argue, it should be a vicious escapee who brutally executed a judge, a court stenographer, a deputy and a federal agent. However, disappointment in the verdict doesn?t mean that justice wasn?t served or that Nichols has evaded punishment.
